Billy Whittaker Racing - History In The Making
Billy Whittaker Racing
Billy Whittaker was born to race. Hooked on racing from the age of four, he has steadily risen in the world of racing. At the age of twelve, Billy was a New York State 4-Wheeler champion as well as part of a crew for a top DIRT Modified Team. After numerous wins and championships he made the progression to driving in the DIRT Modified ranks.

Billy Whittaker RacingAfter winning "Rookie of the Year" at Brewerton Speedway, he began to pile up win after win and people began to take notice. At the age of nineteen, "Billy the Kid" racked up four wins in a row on the tough "Outlaw Modified Circuit", and his future in racing started to take shape. In a very short time he received two Most Improved Driver awards, and was chosen "Most Popular Driver" at three different tracks around New York State. Later, Billy took over the family owned race team and made the switch to NASCAR Late Models on pavement. Still the accolades kept pouring in. In 1995 he received the "Rookie of the Year" award at legendart Spencer Speedway in New York. During the off season that year the team decided to build a NASCAR Late Model from the ground up themselves. Doing it their way proved to be a winning formula again. In 1996 he earned his first NASCAR victory along with finishing in the Top Five in points and another "Most Improved Driver" award.

Billy Whittaker Racing1997 proved to be a breakthrough year for Billy as he raced to eight feature victories that year and was crowned the Spencer Speedway's NASCAR Late Model Champion. He also finished second in points at Evans Mills Speedway and garnered the "Most Popular Driver" and "Best Appearing Car" at BOTH tracks! An eighth place finish in the Northeast division of NASCAR Winston Racing Series earned him a trip to the NASCAR banquet in Nashville, Tennessee. 1998 was a dominating year. He won two Track Championships, racked up fourteen wins at four different tracks, took sixth place in the NASCAR Winston Racing Series, claimed victory at Volusia Speedway during Daytona Speedweeks, and finished with two Empire State Late Model Championships - all in just one year! As well as the victories, he piled up awards such as: "Best Appearing Car", "Most Popular Driver", and "Asphalt Driver of the Year" as voted by Area Auto Racing News.

Billy Whittaker RacingIn 1999 he drove several ISMA and Super Modifieds and enjoyed success with every one of them. In mid-year he drove a new USAC Silver Bullet Car. In 2000, while qualifying, Billy broke the track record at Indianapolis Raceway Park and was "Rookie of the Year" at Gateway International Speedway. This year Billy has turned his attention to the ASA Circuit as owner and driver, again doing it his way. Look for Billy to be giving the veterans a "run for their money" this year!
